Employment and law
Who pays the EFO public charge?
The short answer
The employer. Which party that is depends on the arrangement: on a fully managed booking we are the employer and we pay the 4,800 HUF daily charge, included in the hourly rate. On the coordination track you are the employer, so you pay both the charge and the wage, and we invoice only our coordination fee.
Why that is
In 2026 the charge for casual work is 1.5% of the minimum wage, which is 4,800 HUF per worker per day. Seasonal work is lower and film extras higher, but casual work is the applicable category for event staff.
The amount attaches to the registration rather than to hours worked, so it weighs proportionally more on a short shift. Registration has to happen before work begins and cannot be filed retrospectively.
