Headcount
How many hostesses do you need for 100 guests?
The short answer
For registration, two hostesses per hundred guests is the rule of thumb, plus one for wayfinding if the venue has several floors or rooms. The two aren't sized for the daily average but for the opening peak: roughly half the guests arrive in the twenty minutes before the start, and that's where the queue forms.
Why that is
If badges are pre-sorted alphabetically, two people handle a hundred guests comfortably. If names have to be found in a list on the spot, or there are many walk-ins, three is realistic, and it's worth opening a separate desk for pre-registered guests.
Wayfinding is a separate job: if the event is in one room visible from the entrance, nobody is needed for it. With several floors or parallel sessions, one person per floor or room is required, or the programme loses ten minutes after every break.
