Roles
Protocol hostess
Definition
A protocol hostess knows the order of address and reception, and works to a set choreography at awards ceremonies or VIP receptions.
In practice
The difference isn't appearance but rehearsed order: knowing who is received and seated in what sequence, how to be discreetly present, and at an awards ceremony when and from where a trophy goes to the stage. It can be briefed but not improvised, so the guest profile and choreography have to be handed over in advance.
