Roles
Hostess
Also known as: Event hostess · Greeter
Definition
A hostess is event staff who welcomes, registers and escorts guests, typically at conferences, exhibitions or galas.
In practice
A hostess's job is guest experience, not decoration: they are the first person an attendee meets. They usually run registration, hand out badges, direct people to rooms and handle protocol duties. In Hungary hostess work is typically hourly, casual employment.
