Roles
Promoter
Also known as: Brand promoter · Sampling staff
Definition
A promoter actively approaches shoppers, demonstrates a product and sells, typically in-store, on the street or at festivals.
In practice
The difference between a promoter and a hostess is the direction of initiative: a hostess engages when the guest arrives, a promoter walks up to people. That needs a different temperament, and performance is measured in units or leads.
