Minimum wage
Definition
The minimum wage is the statutory lowest pay, 322,800 HUF a month in 2026, and the figure the simplified-employment public charge is pegged to.
In practice
The minimum wage isn't only a pay floor: the daily public charge for casual work and the tax-exempt threshold are both defined as percentages of it, so every January increase automatically reprices event staffing. For roles requiring qualifications, the guaranteed wage minimum is the applicable floor rather than the minimum wage.
